Is this event free?

YES! There is no admission for READY365. This event is an outdoor, family-friendly event. Many of our partners will also offer free giveaway items. Food Truck refreshments are privately managed and available for a nominal fee.

Pre-registration is not required for READY365.


What time does everything happen?

READY365 is open from Noon-5PM on April 25, 2026 with a Sensory-Friendly hour from 11am-noon for attendees to enjoy the event without the sirens and noise. This is a continuous come-and-go outdoor event. Speakers will take the stage throughout the event to discuss a variety of topics including: Hurricane Preparedness, the 2026 Hurricane Forecast, building an emergency kit, general preparedness tips and more.


Where should I park and how much does parking cost?

There are a variety of parking options for this event:

  • Houston METRORail offers drop off on the Green or Purple Lines using the Convention Center District Stop. Learn more by visiting RideMetro.org
  • Metered City of Houston street parking options can be found using the ParkHouston app.
  • Parking options with the George R. Brown Convention Center can be found here.

What type of activities will you have for families?

Can I bring in my own food or cooler?

Yes. The event will be across from Discovery Green where you are allowed to bring your own lunch and enjoy a picnic on the lawn. Keep in mind, there will also be a variety of food trucks at our event with food/drink options available for purchase.


Will the event be wheelchair accessible?

Yes. We will also be able to provide power for any individual with functional or access needs (i.e. a motorized wheelchair that may need to be charged).


Will there be translation for non-English speakers and the hearing impaired? 

Yes, there will be translation available for Spanish speakers for all presentations being given on the main stage. There will also be an ASL translator present. Available upon request for both.


I’d like to get information about weather safety and preparedness to distribute to my organization, how do I get it? Also, will someone come speak to my group?
